Choosing the right sleepsuit and onesie

Zips or poppers? Mittens or none? A practical guide to picking sleepsuits that make night feeds and nappy changes simpler.

When you are changing several times a night, the fastenings matter more than the print. A two-way zip lets you open from the bottom for a quick nappy change without fully undressing a sleepy baby.

Look for fold-over mittens on newborn sizes, flat seams that sit away from the skin, and a generous cut at the feet so growing toes are never cramped.

Organic cotton is worth it here: it stays soft wash after wash and breathes well, helping little ones settle without overheating.
