Picking a sleeping bag for your little one

A well-chosen sleeping bag keeps babies cosy without loose blankets. Here is how to read tog ratings and find the right fit.
Sleeping bags take the guesswork out of layering and remove loose bedding from the cot. The number to watch is the tog rating — lighter for warm rooms, heavier for winter nights.
Fit is everything: the neck should be snug enough that baby cannot slip down inside, with plenty of room to kick at the bottom.
Pair a 1.0 tog bag with a short-sleeve bodysuit in summer, and add a long-sleeve sleepsuit under a 2.5 tog when the room dips below 18°C.
